Love myself too?

Galatians 5:14 NKJV

[14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

How can all the law be fulfilled in one word, even in addition to it that to love yourself as your neighbor?

Because Jesus showed us the example. All the fullness of God was in him (See Colossians 1) Jesus, even as human as he was, did not sin and lived a completely perfect life. No we aren't Jesus but he understands humanity and in that he knew that to love others well he had to take care of himself. What does that look like?

He pulled away from crowds to sit in quiet spaces. Not lonely ones, because Jesus was never lonely, he carried the Spirit of God with him wherever he went; the same as we do today because of his sacrifice and resurrection.

No, Jesus understood quiet moments to pray or soak in moments to reflect. In the Garden before he was turned over to the officials, the garden was a place of reflection on where he was going and why, could have the Father given him a different way to save us?

Sure, however blood was the cost for the law to be covered by the mercy seat so God couldn't see the law but the love that was in Christ's blood.

Love yourself too? Yes one hundred percent. What does that look like? It could be a walk in the late afternoon. It could be finding a spot to watch the sunset. One option might be to play instrumental music and read a verse or two.
